First of all, we would like to thank everyone who has helped us out during the filming of this project, especially Edwin Cordova, Vladimir and Isaac Ramirez (Eddie’s little brother) who helped us film. Also, we would like to send a special thank you to Angel Duran and Mariachi Sol Azteca for helping out. From writing to recording as well as filming the video, they’ve helped every step of the way.
For those of you who aren’t up to date on what we are doing, we have been recording a music video for our upcoming single “Niña Americana (American Girl)” which will be part of our upcoming album. Last week, we filmed in both Nogales, Arizona and Sonora and this past Saturday, March 17th we decided to film on 4th Ave in Tucson alongside our friends from the mariachi mentioned above.
Over all the filming process went really smoothly. The environment was very fun and everyone was a joy to work with. Not to mention, the weather was beautiful which was perfect since we were filming outdoors. We did however manage to capture the attention of a lot of people passing by. I’m sure they were confused as to why a Mariachi was down on 4th Ave on St. Patrick’s Day. It wasn’t our intention but it just so happened this was the only day we could all gather up to film. Regardless of this, a few folks couldn’t resist the temptation of asking the Mariachi to perform a song. So Alejandra and the rest of the musicians improvised a classic mariachi song together, and this was how we concluded filming for the video.
Over the next few weeks we will be focusing our attention to editing so stay tuned next week. Also this Saturday, March 24th we will be performing at Sky Bar on 4th Ave (9:00PM) alongside our friends Los Hollywood (San Diego, CA) and Volta ( El Paso, TX). Hope to see you there!
